MIX2FIX® GP Steel

MIX2FIX GP Steel is a general-purpose, two-part epoxy paste with a high steel particle content (35% stainless steel). It can be used to make tough, permanent repairs that will be rust-free and can be treated like steel.

MIX2FIX GP Steel can be successfully applied to metal, ceramics, porcelain, concrete, wood and some hard plastics (does not adhere to polyethylene, polypropylene, or PTFE). It spreads easily to fill large and small gaps on both vertical and horizontal surfaces. MIX2FIX GP Steel is not intended for structural applications. When fully cured, conventional metalworking techniques can be used to machine, tap, drill, file, sand and paint the finished repair. Cured color is a Metallic, Medium-gray Steel.

How to use:
 

To achieve optimum adhesion, clean surfaces of all contaminants using a solvent wipe. Abrading the surface with a fine emery cloth prior to cleaning will improve adhesion. Do not apply mixed product at temperatures below 41°F (5°C).

Wear impermeable gloves when mixing or handling uncured material. Use only the amount of product needed for the job at hand. Containers of unmixed material can be resealed for future use.Use different utensils to measure out equal volumes or weights of the resin and hardener to avoid contamination of material remaining in the container. Mix together with a spatula a minimum of 3 minutes until uniform in color. Using a spatula apply to clean, dry surface and remove excess material before the paste has set.

It is recommended that repairs be completed within 30 minutes to avoid disturbing the application as it begins to set. MIX2FIX GP Steel will start setting within an hour at 68°F (20°C), depending on volume and temperature: the greater the volume (or higher the temperature), the faster it will set. Allow 6 hours before handling and 48 hours before returning to service. It can be drilled, tapped, filed, shaped, and painted after 48 hours.
