MIX2FIX® LV Steel

Technical Data

MIX2FIX LV Steel is a reduced viscosity, semi-liquid version of MIX2FIX FC Steel with the same high proportion of corrosion-resistant steel particles. This two-component, steel-filled, non-sag, epoxy adhesive cures in a matter of minutes and has excellent adhesion to a variety of materials including metals, concrete, wood, ceramics, and many plastics (does not adhere to polyethylene, polypropylene, or PTFE). It will not rust, making it ideal for bonding most ferrous and non-ferrous metals.

Use MIX2FIX LV Steel for adhesive or sealing applications requiring easy spreadability, rapid cure and high hardness. It is not intended for structural applications. The finished repair can be drilled, tapped, filed, and sanded. Cured color is Steel Gray.

How to use:

To achieve optimum adhesion, clean surfaces of grease or dirt. Scuffing or sanding the surface prior to cleaning helps insure a good bond. Do not apply at temperatures below 41°F (5°C).

Wear impermeable gloves when mixing or handling uncured material. Use only the amount of product needed for the job at hand. Containers of unmixed material can be resealed for future use. Use different utensils to measure out equal volumes or weights of the resin and hardener to avoid contamination of material remaining in the container. Mix together until a uniform gray color is achieved. Apply to prepared surfaces within 3 minutes of mixing; work life is 5 to 10 minutes. Remove excess material before product begins to set.

Allow application to harden until a strong bond has formed before handling or returning to service, normally 75 to 80 minutes depending on the nature of the application. Product cures faster at higher temperatures and larger volumes, slower at lower temperatures and in thin sections. After 1 hour the application can be drilled, tapped, filed, and sanded.
