Sili-Thane® 803 One-part Hybrid Sealant

Technical Data

Sili-Thane 803 is based on new polymer technology that combines the benefits of silicones (superior UV resistance, fast tack-free and cure times) with the benefits of polyurethanes (paintable; excellent primerless adhesion to a wide range of substrates of dissimilar porosity, surface textures and coefficients of expansion). Although it is a moisture-cure sealant, it is non-bubbling when applied in high humidity or to moist substrates.

Sili-Thane 803 has extraordinary adhesion to unprimed and acrylic-coated aluminum, brass, steel, stainless steel, tin, concrete, mortar, granite, slate, glass, ceramic tile, fiberglass, ABS, PVC, Nylon 66, polyester, lauan wood and plywood. It exhibits adhesive/cohesive failure-in-peel to unprimed polystyrene, polycarbonate and acrylic. Sili-thane 803 is not intended for structural applications.

Benefits:

         •   Environmentally sound, tough, sealant/adhesive.
         •

Solvent- and isocyanate-free; low-VOC content (18 gms/L).

         •   Interior or exterior use.
         •   Fast curing; very low odor.
         •

Gunnable at cold temperatures.

         •   Exceptional adhesion to dry surfaces; good underwater adhesion to non-porous surfaces.
         •   Superior UV resistance; does not yellow, crack, craze or chalk.
         •

Non-corrosive on unprotected metals (iron, copper, etc.)

         •   Nil shrinkage.
         •   Does not foam or bubble in high humidity or on moist substrates.
         •

Non-gassing; will not revert.

         •   Paintable.
         •   Minimal dirt pick-up.
         •

Long life (20+ years).

         •   Meets or exceeds Federal Spec TT-S-00230C, ASTM C920, CAN/CGSB 19.3-M87.
